Supported versions of McAfee® ePolicy Orchestrator® (McAfee® ePO™) are 5.9.0, 5.9.1, and 5.10.0.

The minimum supported McAfee® Agent for Mac is 5.6.2.209.

Important:

We do not support the automatic upgrade of a pre-release software version (POC or test builds). To upgrade to a production release of the software, uninstall the existing version first.

This update can be installed only on macOS Mojave 10.14 and macOS Catalina 10.15.

For McAfee® Application Control and McAfee® Change Control customers installing or upgrading to FRP 5.1.x, see KB91662 before starting the installation process.

New features

Support for macOS Catalina and later through browser upgrade — When inserting an FRP-protected device into a Mac system with FRP 5.1.1 installed, you are now prompted to upgrade the FRP offline browser to the latest version.

Note: When the browser is updated to the latest FRP version, macOS Sierra and earlier are no longer supported for offsite access.

Updated platform, environment, or operating system support

This release:

  • Extends support to macOS Catalina.
  • Automatically updates the McAfee Management Agent certificates on the Mac clients.

New features

This release introduces new features or improves existing features:

Automation of FRP event purge

You can now automatically purge FRP event data. You can also configure and customize the purge interval and event category.

User's token reset

You can now reset a user's smart card token.

Removable Media improvements

You can now protect and authenticate removable media through the context menu.

Removable Media support

FRP now supports USB devices up to 8 TB with "Allow/Enforce Encryption with offsite access (formerly EERM)" policy.

Exempt Device IDs list

You can now add any number of exempted devices to the removable media policy. For more information, see KB81519.

New search functionality within FRP Keys page

The Quick find search filter is now available on the Unassign UPKs page. You can search for a personal key based on the Distinguished Name column.

Encryption driver improvements

FRP 5.1 significantly enhances the stability of the encryption driver.
