What's new in the 2.9.x release

This document contains important information about the current release. We recommend that you read the whole document. This release also addresses defects, added support for a command-line option to force a new installation of McAfee® Agent, and adds support for McAfee products supporting Windows 20H2.

McAfee Endpoint Upgrade Assistant is a tool designed to help with analyzing, planning, and executing your upgrade to McAfee® Endpoint Security.

Release build

This release was developed for use with:

  • McAfee® ePolicy Orchestrator® (McAfee® ePO™) 5.1.2 or later
  • McAfee Endpoint Security 10.6.1 and 10.7.
  • Windows Server 2008 R2 to Windows Server 2019
  • Windows 7 SP1 to Windows 20H2
    Note: Using Endpoint Upgrade Assistant to upgrade from Windows 7 can fail when Windows Update KB3033929 has not been applied. Windows Update KB3033929 adds the needed SHA256 certificate support to Windows 7 and resolves this issue.
