What's new in the 11.5 release

Releases can introduce new features and enhancements or update platform support.

New features

This release introduces new features or improves existing features:

DLP Getting Started feature

This release introduces the DLP Getting Started feature. DLP Getting Started helps you configure your McAfee DLP product quickly and helps you protect your data immediately post-installation. Use this feature to add shared location details, and create your first McAfee DLP rule and policy.

Support for integration with Microsoft Azure Information Protection

Administrators can now add a Microsoft Azure RMS server and defined labels in the McAfee DLP Registered Servers page. A Microsoft Azure RMS 3rd party tag was added to the classification properties options. Using the new RMS Microsoft option, users can select the Microsoft RMS server type for RMS on-premises or Azure RMS. Microsoft RMS on-premises and Azure RMS reactions can now be applied in the Removable Storage and Network Share protection rules.

Backup and restore McAfee DLP Settings

Using the existing McAfee DLP Back up and Restore feature, you can now backup and restore McAfee DLP settings. A new password encryption option allows you to set up an encryption password for the backup file so that your Shared Password from DLP Settings isn't in readable format.

Test classifications with the Classification Tester

The new Classification Tester tool is now available from the McAfee DLP Classification page. Run the classification tester to verify if a phrase or file is triggered with your classifications.

GDPR PII out-of-box rule set

The GDPR rule set contains a collection of rules and dictionary definitions, including the PII classification for each country that uses these dictionaries. They can be used to improve detection accuracy, specifically when scanning for Personally Identifiable information (PII) for European Union Citizens.
