New features in McAfee DLP extension

This release introduces new features or improves existing features:

  • Policy Analyzer — When you save a rule, the policy analyzer now scans the rule for potential problems and issues warnings. For example, a rule with a Classification of any data (ALL) is permitted (not an error) but is likely to overload the system with events . A Do you wish to proceed? Window is displayed describing the problem, and you can choose to save the rule as is, or go back to fix the problem.
  • Google Chrome Guest Mode protection — You can disable Google Chrome Guest Mode on the Operational Modes and Modules page of the Windows Client Configuration. The default setting is to disable Guest Mode, as it can't be blocked or monitored. The feature is not backward compatible with older McAfee DLP Endpoint clients.

New features in McAfee DLP Endpoint for Windows client

  • UAS support for plug and play device rule — USB-attached SCSI is now supported for plug and play devices. For information about enabling this feature, see KB 91074
  • Web protection rule enhancement — Web protection rules and web content fingerprinting now support URL paths containing a query string.
